THE STORY
This artwork captures the Trinity College Library in Ireland—known as the Library of Trinity College Dublin—from multiple angles, evoking that initial feeling of awe and even dizziness upon entering. I wanted to combine the library's majestic grandeur with the intimate details that give it its unique charm. The Long Room, an impressive 65 meters in length, captivated me; it serves as the library's centerpiece and marks the start of a journey through a legacy steeped in culture and history. This photographic art print invites hours of exploration, where each glance reveals new details, making you wish you could stay and browse through the volumes forever. I used the rhythmic graphic lines of the vaulted ceiling and arches to guide the eye toward the center. Throughout the scene, statues of eminent thinkers and creatives like Plato, Aristotle, Shakespeare, and Jonathan Swift stand as guardians—protectors of knowledge and history. My aim was also to capture the visual symphony created by light filtering through the windows, casting a glow on the dark oak bookshelves that house the library's 200,000 ancient tomes. The piece includes the steady crowd of visitors, a vibrant contrast between living curiosity and timeless heritage. This artwork is all about rhythm, history, and the knowledge that grows with each passing visitor.
I personally photographed every image used in creating this artwork, ensuring a genuine and unique piece.
