The Breathe Series is where Charlotte Fonne's layering began. Landscapes and cities on 5 continents, each built from many of her own photographs.
A place cannot be held in one image. The layers come from different views of it, taken at different times and sometimes from across a whole country. Chilean Poem holds Valparaiso, Easter Island and Torres del Paine in one image.
The impulse is Impressionist. Colors shift, light and shadow diffuse, and the place arrives as a feeling rather than a description, with no single moment left in it.
The series asks the viewer to feel a place with all its hours and even days together.
