Not what I saw, what I remember

Photographic Art by Charlotte Fonne

Basilica di San Marco photography print by Charlotte Fonne, Saint Mark's Basilica in Venice, layered fine art from the Broken Series

MANY PHOTOGRAPHS, ONE IMAGE

Discover the series

I build each artwork by layering many of my own photographs into a single image, the way I once assembled a scene as a film editor. The work is not a record of how a place looked. It is how it felt to be there, and what stays with me once I have left. Fragments of time and space overlap until the image carries the memory instead of the moment.
