The Broken Series
The Broken series redefines the boundaries of representation, rules, and reality, exploring iconic landmarks. It’s a tribute to the Cubist artists of the early 20th century.
This project uses layered photographs to create visual fragmentation with multiple perspectives, viewpoints, and scales, breaking away from conventional representation. The goal is to create a sense of depth and movement, a perspective that brings a monument or architectural site to life. When combined, the layers form a dynamic composition centered around a monument within the same space. The artwork results in a graphic rhythm of shapes, lines, and angles that reflects mental imprints, transitioning the subject from a two-dimensional image to a three dimensional form. The work conveys not just what was seen, but how it was perceived and remembered.
The Broken series invites viewers to look beyond the obvious, uncover the hidden complexity of the world’s masterpieces, and appreciate the beauty in their details. It is about seeing more, feeling more, and discovering more than a single image could capture.
