The Reflection Series
The Reflection Series turns the layering technique toward people. Where Charlotte’s other work layers a place into itself, here a person is layered together with the world that shaped them, the streets, the colors, the textures, and the light of where they belong.
The portrait and its surroundings merge until the two can no longer be separated. A face carries its city, a body holds its landscape, and the figure becomes inseparable from the place that formed it. The result is not a likeness but a recollection, a person seen the way memory holds them, woven into everything around them.
The series asks the viewer to see each person as part of something larger, never a figure alone, always shaped by the world they move through.
