STORY
Sunset over Mont Veyrier is Lake Annecy in the French Alps at the end of the day, built from Charlotte's own photographs of the mountain, the lake and the sky.
Using her signature multi layer photographic technique, Charlotte composites many of her own frames into one image, the way a film editor assembles a scene from many takes. Here the mountain comes twice. Once whole, with the village of Veyrier-du-Lac and its small harbor at its foot. Once up close, its cliffs huge in the sky, with pink clouds caught on the rock.
The other photographs, of the sunset itself, change the whole image. Laid over the mountain, they soften its gold and bring in the clouds of that evening. Trees from the shore at Annecy-le-Vieux come through as pale shapes, one of them dark pink. A faint rainbow runs down into the water, which keeps the gold in its reflections.
Charlotte remembers the colors the sunset brought out in the mountain, the forest, the lake and the sky. It was peaceful, and everything seemed to vibrate.
This work is part of The Breathe Series, Charlotte Fonne's landscapes and cityscapes, where a place is felt with all its hours and even days together.
Each image in the composition is personally photographed by Charlotte, ensuring a genuine and unique piece. Signed, numbered, and accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity.
