STORY
Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum is Frank Lloyd Wright's museum on Fifth Avenue in New York, built from Charlotte's own photographs of the building.
Using her signature multi layer photographic technique, Charlotte moves around the monument and layers views from many angles onto one surface, the way a film editor builds one scene from cameras placed on every side. Inside, Wright built one long ramp that turns in a spiral from the ground floor to the top. Outside, it shows as white bands. Here those bands repeat at every height and angle, and the dark lines between them run across the whole frame.
Every curve leads into the next. The eye keeps going around, the way the ramp does.
At the top, some of the bands rise into the sky, pale enough for the blue to show through.
The name runs along one band in large letters, climbing with the curve. Under it, at the bottom left, a crowd is going in.
This work is part of The Broken Series, Charlotte Fonne's tribute to the Cubist painters, where the world's iconic monuments are circled and gathered onto a single surface.
Each image in the composition is personally photographed by Charlotte, ensuring a genuine and unique piece. Signed, numbered, and accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity.
