STORY

In On High, Charlotte Fonne creates an artwork capturing the tranquil cloudy sky seen from an airplane through her layered photographic technique. From the fusion of images, recurring motifs emerge with horizontal lines from the clouds to form a visual rhythm. Gradient palettes shifting from blue to pink to yellow and contrasts with blurred edges and reflections of sunlight, offer a dreamlike interpretation. As if embarking on an emotional and spiritual journey, I am drawn back to the ethereal moments experienced in each location. My aspiration is to distill the essence of serenity, to embody the flow of time, and to depict the intensity of life in a state of stillness.

The resulting repetitive lines, gradient color palettes and tonal contrasts create a visual rhythm, inducing a meditative state. The soft and blurred edges transition smoothly from one to the next, offering not a clear-cut view of reality, but a dreamlike interpretation The final artwork resonates with the very pulse of a place, producing an image reminiscent of a fine painting.
